*NOTES:
- Each slime comes with your choice of a different instrument charm. Please see the variant options.
- The inside of the jar is painted, which is meant to transform and gradually come off over time as you remove the slime from the jar many times and play with it.
- Please do not put the photo print on the slime until you are ready to mix it in. Moisture causes the image to blur if left too long.
“Welcome to the Black Parade” is arguably one of My Chemical Romance’s most famous songs, with its opening G-note a beckoning call to the ears of every emo kid past and present.
The album “The Black Parade” is a rock opera concept album centered around a character called The Patient, a man dying of cancer. When Death comes for The Patient, it is in the form of his fondest memory: his father taking him to see a marching band when he was a child.
As The Patient moves through death, he reflects on his life, regrets, legacy, and what comes after, remembering his father’s request for him to be a "savior of the broken, the beaten, and the damned”, to defeat his demons, and grow up to live a good life.
According to writer Gerard Way, the song itself is about the idea of overcoming the darkness present within the world, as well as the "triumph of the human spirit". He says, despite the darker imagery, the song leaves listeners with a positive message of “having a strong desire to live”. Beyond the concept of the story, the song touches on moving through grief for lost loved ones, as well as not giving up the fight and choosing to live another day, with lyrics like “The world will never take my heart”, “Won't explain or say I'm sorry / I'm unashamed, I'm gonna show my scar”, and “When you're gone, we want you all to know we'll carry on”
The title of this slime pulls from the lyrics and comes from the idea that existing in this world is brutal - it means grief, and that grief can break you - but we can also face our pain and keep going with purpose.
