Would you choose love even at the cost of self-destruction? MCR’s To The End continues to follow the story of the Demolition Lovers, wherein the Demo Man (having made a deal with the devil) must take out a thousand evil souls in order to be reunited with his dearly-departed beloved. In this song, he crashes a wedding party to rack up more souls, turning a celebration of love into a horror show with his own grief & rage fueling the spree. We witness him turn into a monster on a spree, bitter at the artificiality of the happy couple.

“To The End” is also speculated to be based on William Faulkner’s short story, “A Rose For Emily.” In the story, she desperately poisons her lover to keep him from leaving, and keeps his corpse in her bed for years. Similar to the Demo Man, she clings to a fantasy life, but at what cost? The Demo Man’s actions are futile – we find out he will never be reunited with the Demo Woman; his attempts only serve to destroy him as he refuses to accept her death.

I chose this song because it speaks to the lengths one will go to in order to survive the loss of a loved one and move through grief when everything has been taken from them. It asks: how far are you willing to go for love? Will you stick it out until the end, through all the pain & heartache? This commitment ultimately costs the protagonist his innocence & morality, but when this line is taken a bit out of context, it’s actually pretty…sweet.

This slime features my fan-favorite foamy plump fleece texture in a decadent blackberry-red-velvet hue & a mouthwatering fragrance hand-blended to perfection, as always. A pre-made bottled scent or two is not gonna cut it here! This is a luscious, light, chocolate cake like no other, elevated by the wine notes. Comes with 1 oz blood-red “pomegranate blackberry coulis” jelly and “goat cheese buttercream” feather clay (texture is like real goat’s cheese) scented realistic to the name.
