KOMOREBI //

✋gummy jelly x fishbowl x sugar scrub
👃momiji (japanese red maple leaves), roasted chestnut, roasted japanese sweet potato, warm golden sunlight, hint of bonfire

Note: Each slime comes with a small zip-close bag of add-ins inside the jar (various glitters + gold foil leaf) to decorate your slime.

Dappled golden light filters through a canopy of trees, fleeting and shifting; you feel completely at peace. The ephemeral beauty of the soft moving light seems to breathe with the wind, putting you at ease with its sense of transience.

木漏れ日 (komorebi) is a compound word in Japanese, combining ko (木) = tree, more (漏れ) = leakage or escape, and bi (日) = light or sun. When you see “sunspots filtering through the leaves, you'll typically experience this more walking through a dense forest path.” (@clarror404) More than just the appearance of the sunlight, komorebi comes with an embodied feeling. Clara explains, “If a breeze happens to be in the works, then the feeling's as if the sun and the trees are waving hello to you. And if you're a nature lover, that shhhhhh sound is one to listen to.”

The word became more commonly used during Japan’s Heisei era (1989–2019), especially in literature, photography, and pop culture. It has become globally known in recent years, as it captures a specific feeling and moment, but it’s also rooted in Japanese values and aesthetics, feeling at home alongside concepts like shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) and wabi-sabi (beauty in imperfection).

When you are able, take a pause when you’re outside and see if you too can experience komorebi!

With this slime, I intended to capture the transient beauty of komorebi. It features my fan-favorite gummy jelly base, with add-ins suspended inside to resemble dappled sunlight peeking through leaves: uniquely opaque red sugar scrub beads; warm-toned fishbowl beads in yellow, orange, and red; momiji glitters; and golden glitters. You’ll receive a sheet of gold foil leaf; gently press this to the slime’s surface or sides to create the illusion of sunlight filtering through.

The scent blend is not a sweet or cloying fall scent, but rather a more realistic blend of atmospheric leafy notes paired with warm, gentle, and balanced notes of the foodier scents (not too food-y!) It’s a scent that transports you to late-summer-early-fall.
