  • The deer and bones clay pieces come in a sturdy 8 oz polypropylene slime jar, which you can use to store slime overflow after mixing.
  • The bingsu topper comes in a sturdy 3 oz polypropylene slime jar.

Having been laid to rest in 2013, MCR emerged from the ashes in 2022 with “The Foundations of Decay”, a hard-hitting anthem about the inevitability of decay with passing time & how we find the strength to move forward.

It’s partially a reflection on the band itself, on how the rat race of fame corrodes (“It's much too late, you're in the race / so we'll press & press 'til you can't take it anymore”) leading to burnout, destruction, & eventually aging & insignificance. (“Fate had left its scars upon his face” “Tired with age, he turns the page / let the flesh submit itself to gravity”)

But even for the rest of us who aren’t having inner turmoil about becoming a tired nostalgia act, this song is relatable – what becomes of us after time, trauma, & hardship has worn away at us? When we are beaten down, lying in the dirt, where do we go from there?

The lyrics speak of being once strong, permanently weathered & marked by one’s struggles - relatable as a person living with PTSD. There’s temptation to let pain consume us – “Let our bodies lay, mark our hearts with shame / let our blood in vain, you find god in pain”. But though we can’t erase our trauma, we can move forward, even as we’ve been forever changed by it.

The lyrics continue:
“You must fix your heart / & you must build an altar where it swells” “Let it flood, let it wash away.” We must release ourselves to the storm, let it carry out its course. When the torrent subsides, we survey the damage & repair.

Which leads to the core point: “As the vermin crawl, we lay in the foundations of decay.” Such is the cycle of life, being built up & torn down, decomposed to make room for new growth. There is ongoing struggle between the part of us that wants to remain in the ashes & dirt, & the part that insists on getting up again & moving forward. Beautiful.

This slime’s visuals evoke life cycle imagery: a deer kneeling in the dirt, surrounded by bones, beginning to decay; black bingu for the “swarm” (vermin, flies) in the song.
